Announcing Podcast-Only RSS Feed

Thursday, March 24th, 2005

Based on feedback about the RSS feed, I’m happy to announce that I’ve created an RSS feed for Radio DTB that will only contain items for the weekly podcasts and information directly related to the podcasts: http://feeds.feedburner.com/radiodtb-podcast. You can subscribe to this feed if you’re only interested in seeing the podcasts or items directly related to the podcasts, or you can use it in your podcasting client. If you like to get the entire site content in your RSS feed, continue to use http://feeds.feedburner.com/radiodtb in your favorite RSS aggregator.

As always, feedback about any aspect of the site or the podcast is appreciated.

Radio DTB: Now Featuring Voice Mail

Friday, March 18th, 2005

Radio DTB now features voice mail. That’s right, if you’ve got a question, comment, or request that you’re dying to send to Radio DTB, and you’d rather use the telephone instead of using email or leaving a comment at the web site, I’ve got you covered. Just call 206-984-9487 and leave a message. I might include your message on an upcoming episode. The voice mail service is provided (for free) from K7 and I figured that I’d try it out and see how I liked it. So far, so good.

Thanks go out to Shahrum Amiri, who produces a daily podcast on his way to work, for the pointer to K7. Shahrum’s podcast and website isn’t related to the DTB or to live music, but it’s worth checking out — I enjoy listening to his podcasts.

Radio DTB #003 Delayed

Monday, March 14th, 2005

Normally, I try to get the Radio DTB podcasts up before I go to bed Sunday night, so that they’re available for everyone to listen to on Monday morning. This week has been a tough one for me, and as a result, the production of the podcast has slipped. Hopefully, I’ll be able to finish it today and put it up before going to bed tonight, so it’ll be here when you wake up in the morning.

Sneak peak: We’ll be visiting the January 2005 shows at the Ram’s Head Tavern in Annapolis, MD and focusing on some of the newer tunes that the band has been playing lately.

Request for Help: favicon.ico

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005

One thing that I’d like to add to the Radio DTB website is one of those icons that show up in the address bar of your web browser. These icons are called “favicon.ico” and I think they make the website look a little better.

The problem for me is that I’m not terribly artistic. If any of my readers do have the skill and inclination to create a snazzy favicon.ico file for the website, I’d be extremely grateful. Of course, I’ll even credit you on the “About” page.

If you can help out, please leave a comment on this post or drop me an email. Thanks!

Updated RSS Feed For Radio DTB

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005

I’m switching the RSS feed for Radio DTB over to Feedburner.com. Doing this is going to allow me to get better statistical information about my readers and will make it a bit easier for me to distribute the podcasts. The correct RSS feed for Radio DTB is http://feeds.feedburner.com/radiodtb — please update your news aggregaters appropriately. The old feed should re-direct to the new feed, but you’ll be assured of having the correct behavior if you update your links.

If you have any issues with any aspect of the site, including the RSS feed, please let me know. I’m sorry to throw this kink into the site so soon after launching, but the change should be transparent to you and I’ll be provide a better site with this change.

Radio DTB Mentioned on “Harmonica Ramblings”

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005

Radio DTB was mentioned on Harmonica Ramblings, a blog devoted to harmonica and other good music. It was a nice treat to see Radio DTB mentioned so favorably in another blog.

In addition to Radio DTB, Harmonica Ramblings highlights two other great DTB-related web sites: Tamera’s photography website and DTB Setlists. And if you can read French, there’s a link to a lengthy article about the DTB for a French fanzine.

Harmonica Ramblings promises more DTB content in the future, including a review of Live At Georgia Theatre. I’ll be keeping my eyes open.

Welcome to Radio DTB

Wednesday, February 9th, 2005

Welcome to Radio DTB: Your Internet source for MP3s featuring live music from the Derek Trucks Band. This site is still in its infancy, but when completed, will host a weekly, thirty minute, podcast-style show featuring live DTB music available from the Live Music Archive. This site will also serve as a one-stop portal to the other great DTB resources on the internet.

The projected launch date for this site is early March, 2005.

Stay tuned….
